Support appeal for the Ashrama

Rebuilding the retaining wall

On 3 October 2026 the retaining wall at the back of the Ashrama collapsed. We are counting on everyone's help to rebuild it.

Engineers assess the collapsed retaining wall at the back of the Ashrama; bricks and rubble cover the parking area.

The Ashrama's activities continue as usual. Only the parking area remains closed, and the house is being accessed through the temple door.

Update

Since the collapse we have been working to understand the full extent of the work required and to find the best conditions for carrying it out. We have already contacted several engineering professionals, started gathering quotes, and are waiting for the technical guidance that will allow us to define the next steps.

Initial estimates indicate that the repair may involve very high costs. We do not yet have a final budget, as the figures depend on more detailed technical assessments and plans. Even so, we already know it will be a significant financial challenge for the Ashrama.

With summer and the season of heavier rains approaching, we are all the more concerned to put in place the conditions needed to face this situation safely and responsibly.

Why we need your help

The Ashrama is maintained exclusively by the contributions of its members, regular visitors and friends. The funds we receive each month sustain our activities and the upkeep of the house, and we have no financial reserve for work on this scale.

We are looking for other sources of support and for ways to reduce the costs involved, but everyone's participation remains essential. Every contribution, whatever its size, helps us build the conditions to overcome this challenge and keep the Ashrama's activities going.
